The choir presented our three traditional Christmas events:
- a service of carols and readings at Buckfast Abbey
- a concert with carols and seasonal readings by students of The Leonard School of Dramatic Art at The Great Barn in the Teign Valley
- a carol concert at St Stephen’s church in Exeter
There was a mixture of old and new music, including Victoria, Bruckner and Rachmaninov on the one hand and Britten, Dove and Macmillan on the other. Congregational and audience carols were mixed with various arrangements of old favourites, such asThere is no Rose, Away in a Manger, I’m Dreamin’ of a White Christmas and The Holly and the Ivy. As always, the audiences were very appreciative of the choir’s energy, enthusiasm and sheer enjoyment of the music.
